Welcome to KidZone… ONLINE!

Hello KidZone Families!

Welcome to KidZone!  I am are so glad you are here.

Things may look different than ever before, but I am excited for what God is doing and for the opportunities we have to be an active church in our communities.  Here you will find some activity pages, weekly Bible readings and videos, and a place to make yourself at home at New Life.  Take a scroll through and enjoy some intentional time together learning more about God’s love for us! If you have been attending for years, have just stumbled across our page, or anywhere in between, I’d love to hear from you.  At New Life we know that raising children takes a village and we are honoured to walk with you.

Feel free to contact me with any ideas, questions, or comments.

Ongoing Challenges & Activities

For those still wanting to learn some additional verses here are some great charts to chip away at! Parents, please limit your “helps” to 2 or less before signing off on verses. When we come back together again I can add these as points to your child’s verse card!

Orange Blog

Orange is the resource where we get much of our regular content from, and they have a fantastic blog available with great information. Check out the Orange Blog here

Some Resources to Promote Diversity

As the body of Christ I firmly believe that we are to be advocates and allies to those who are oppressed (check out Proverbs 31:8-9).  There are many ways in which we are able to do this, and one in particular starts at home. We, as parents and caregivers, are given the unique responsibility and honour of raising up the next generation. I encourage you to have conversations with your kids about racism, prejudice, and God’s love for all in clear and direct ways.  It is never to early to talk about diversity!  I have compiled a list of a few of our family favourites that increase exposure through reading and help open the conversation if you aren’t sure where to start.  Because the library is closed, and not all are able to purchase books, a great way to check these out is on YouTube – type the title followed by “read aloud”.  I understand that this is more screen time, but I do think it’s worth it.  If any one is interested in more resources (for instance: printable activity sheets) or would like to have more conversations about this, the line is always open and I would love to hear from you!
