NL Daily Prayer Focus
Starting Monday, March 30 and continuing every day during the suspension of services due to the cancellation of large gatherings because of COVID-19, we bring you The NL Daily Prayer Focus.  Each afternoon at 2pm we’ll post a prayer focus for the day.  We’ll alternate between themes to pray for and people groups to pray for, and Sundays we’ll pick up on our tradition from our Sunday morning bulletins and pray for the nations. So each Sunday we’ll have a different country in the world to pray for.

We challenge you to participate each day with us as we pray for ourselves, our families and friends, our community and the world.  Commit as much time to this as works for you – if that’s 30 seconds, great, if that’s 3 hours, awesome!  Do what works for you.  These images will be published here for those who do not have access to Facebook or Instagram, but please do follow the posts on Social Media too.  We hope to interact with you, share how we’re praying for each other, and we encourage you to share the post on your social accounts too, it doesn’t just have to be our church family that’s praying!

Prayer Focus April 8 2020

Today we pray together for faith. Pray for those who have faith in Jesus for it to be unwavering and unbreakable. Pray for those who don’t have faith in Jesus to have this hard time lead them to faith in Him to sustain them.

A good verse to meditate on for faith: “But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”” Matthew 19:26

Prayer Focus April 7 2020

Today let’s lift up our, and the world’s, Police Force in Prayer. Pray of course for health and stamina, but also for wisdom and for them to trust in God’s guidance.

A good verse to meditate on for our Police Force: “We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.” Romans 15:1

Prayer Focus April 6 2020

Today we pray together for peace. For those who now feel the weight of the world on their shoulders, or for those who are restless with too much time on their hands – peace. Peace amidst so much uncertainty and unknown. A true and core reaching peace that can only come from our Lord Jesus Christ.

A good verse to meditate on for peace: “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7

Prayer Focus April 5 2020

Thank you for joining us this week in various prayer topics, on Sundays we want to pray for different nations in our world. We felt a good one to start with would be China.

Pray for those both in the country and those governing the country. Pray for their economy as many harbour frustrations with China due to the coronavirus outbreak. Pray for the Church in China and believers during this hard time. Seek God’s direction for prayer needs for this nation.

Prayer Focus April 4 2020

Today, let’s lift up our Government Workers in prayer. From those keeping administrative things in line municipally, all the way to our Prime Minister – so many key players to keep our country running as best as possible in a trying time. Pray for health, peace, patience and above all, wisdom in navigating through one of the hardest times.

A good verse to meditate on for our Government Workers: “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.” Romans 13:1

Prayer Focus April 3 2020

Today pray for calm. Calm amidst a tumultuous time with so much uncertainty. Calm that can truly come when we lean on God to take away our worries. Pray for calm for others too, especially those on the front lines dealing regularly with anything BUT calm.

A good verse to meditate on for calm: “When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.” Psalm 94:19

Prayer Focus April 2 2020

Today, join us as we pray for our Grocery Store Workers. Many of these dedicated men and women are working long and extra hours, and often dealing with stressed out or grumpy customers. They’re putting themselves regularly in front of many in our community to make sure we have all we need. Pray for health, stamina and patience.

A good verse to meditate on for our Grocery Store Workers: “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.” Hebrews 6:10

Prayer Focus April 1 2020

Today we pray together for joy. Even when times are bleak and things are challenging and maybe seem impossible, God can bring a true joy as we lean on Him. Bring Him your worries, burdens and stress and let Him bless you with joy.

A good verse to meditate on for joy: “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” John 15:11

NL Daily Prayer Focus: Health Care Workers

Today let’s lift up our Health Care Workers in Prayer. Pray for health, stamina, focus and God’s protection for them and their families. Many are isolating from their families too, pray they all feel the peace and love of Jesus during this time.

A good verse to meditate on for our Health Care Workers: “And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'” Matthew 25:40
