NL Daily Prayer Focus
Starting Monday, March 30 and continuing every day during the suspension of services due to the cancellation of large gatherings because of COVID-19, we bring you The NL Daily Prayer Focus.  Each afternoon at 2pm we’ll post a prayer focus for the day.  We’ll alternate between themes to pray for and people groups to pray for, and Sundays we’ll pick up on our tradition from our Sunday morning bulletins and pray for the nations. So each Sunday we’ll have a different country in the world to pray for.

We challenge you to participate each day with us as we pray for ourselves, our families and friends, our community and the world.  Commit as much time to this as works for you – if that’s 30 seconds, great, if that’s 3 hours, awesome!  Do what works for you.  These images will be published here for those who do not have access to Facebook or Instagram, but please do follow the posts on Social Media too.  We hope to interact with you, share how we’re praying for each other, and we encourage you to share the post on your social accounts too, it doesn’t just have to be our church family that’s praying!

Today we pray for International Students. This pandemic has closed many borders and this is causing many students that travel internationally for schooling to be forced to stay abroad away from their family. Pray for comfort for these youth and young adults as many so long to return home. Pray for the families they live with and the school staff working with them.

A good verse to meditate on for International Students: “The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself” Leviticus 19:34a

Today we pray together for prayer. That people would turn to prayer and regular time spent in active relationship with the Lord during this time of crisis. Pray that people would desire to spend time with God and remember to, that it wouldn’t get forgotten or postponed. Pray for all to remember and rely on the power of prayer.

A good verse to meditate on for prayer: “Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.” 1 Chronicles 16:11

Today let’s lift up School Administrators in prayer. Many are in the final crunch of school time trying to tie up loose ends all while doing their best to look ahead and plan for the next school year – when no one knows what that will even look like. Pray for wisdom in their decisions, time management for their many tasks, and grace given them from all the parents and co-workers looking to them for guidance.

A good verse to meditate on for School Administrators: “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.'” Isaiah 30:21

Prayer Focus June 22 2020

Today we pray together for surrender. Pray that we would intentionally surrender our will to God’s will. Pray that we would trust in His provision, His timing, His direction and His plan for our lives. Pray that we would leave Him in control and not try to do it on our own.

A good verse to meditate on for surrender: “Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” Luke 9:23

Prayer Focus June 21 2020

Our Sunday Pray for the Nations today has us focusing on France. Not only one of the hardest hit nations for COVID-19 for amount of cases and percentage of deaths, but also a country starving for the Lord. So yes, pray for their physical health but also their spiritual health.

In Europe as a whole, church attendance is very low (6-8%), 80% of the french have never even seen a Bible and only about 1% of their population are Evangelical Christians. Pray that during this time that many are very reflective and seeking answers to life that they would turn to Christ. Pray for the few that are Christians to be emboldened to shine their light for Jesus.

Today pray for Christ-likeness. Pray that we would strive each and every day to be the hands and feet of Jesus and carry on His ministry. Pray that those we encounter would see Jesus through us and our actions.

Today we pray for Newspeople. As so many people rely on the news, especially during a crisis, pray for those delivering the news to do it with integrity. Pray for their safety as they navigate many hard places for their stories. Pray with all the hard things they see that they would turn to God for refreshment.

A good verse to meditate on for Newspeople: “For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man.” 2 Corinthians 8:21

Prayer Focus June 17 2020

Today we pray together for purpose. Pray that people would be looking for a true purpose in life during these times and that they would come to know that this purpose can only be found in Christ. Pray for those who are with Christ to remember that their true purpose is in Him and to trust Him every day.

A good verse to meditate on for purpose: “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3

Today let’s lift up Remote Managers in prayer, those who have to successfully lead a team that are not together in one office but spread apart. Pray that they would be equipped with the best tools and training to be successful. Pray that they would embrace the method of managing and still connect well with their team members.

A good verse to meditate on for Remote Managers: “Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds” Proverbs 27:23
